On April 2nd 2020, at 9h (Chile time zone) the Seminar “Categories and methodologies for the analysis of labour informality” will take place online. This seminar is organized in the framework of LATWORK Project Developing research and innovation capacities of Latinamerican HEI for the analysis of Informal Labour Market and it gives a follow-up of the first Training of Trainers that was carried out in Brazil last December and where participants from all partner Universities of the project participated.
The seminar “Categories and methodologies for the analysis of labour informality” is organized by the three LATWORK project partner universities in Chile, Universidad Viña del Mar, Universidad San Sebastián and Universidad de Magallanes.
During this seminar there will be several presentations about informal labour market, its definitions, theories and measurement standards among other very interesting topics related to informal economy and the uncertainty of the near future due to the COVID-19 global situation. Some of the speakers who will join the conference are, on the one hand, Mrs. Marcela Cabezas, regional statistician for Latin-America and the Caribbean of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) who will participate with a presentation called “International standards of the measurement of informality and present and future challenges”. On the other hand, also, Mr. Jürgen Weller, Ex Jefe de la Unidad de Estudios del Empleo de la División de Desarrollo Económico, CEPAL, will be presenting a talk about “Measurement, análisis and option of policies regarding informality”.
