On July 31st, the Online Conference “Naturaleza y significación de la Informalidad” was held. This activity was the closing of Module 1 "Informality: concepts and theories from a historical perspective" of the LATWORK Virtual Course "Informality and its multiple dimensions in Latin America", the open online course that is being carried out within the framework of the LATWORK Project in which 675 participants from 17 countries are registered.
The activity started with the opening words of Mrs. Meritxell Calbet, Director of International Cooperation of Universidad Viña del Mar, Chile and general coordinator of the Erasmus + Project LATWORK . Meritxell Calbet welcomed the participants to the activity and presented the Erasmus + Project LATWORK and the Virtual Course "Informality and its multiple dimensions. After that, Dr. Roberto Veras, from Universidade Federal da Paraíba, Brazil, one of the professors of Module 1 of the LATWORK Virtual Course "Informality and its many dimensions in Latin America", introduced the keynote speaker of the event: Dr. Julio César Neffa, Senior researcher CONICET and university professor.
In his presentation, Dr. Neffa talked about the debates that have marked the history of the concept of informal labour until today.
During the activity, 269 people from more than 8 countries participated. To conclude the activity, Dr. Roberto Véras from Universidade Federal da Paraíba, Brazil and Dr. José Dari Krein, from Universidade Estadual de Campinas Brazil asked the keynote speaker various questions of the public on the subject.
It was an excellent closing for Module 1 "Informality: conceptions and theories from a historical perspective" of the "Virtual Course LATWORK Informality and its multiple dimensions in Latin America". Next week Module 2 of the course begins, which will focus on “Informal Work in Latin America”.
